Monty Gene Link

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monty Gene Link, a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Born on Wednesday, June 11, 1941, Monty went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2025. He was a beloved resident of Lexington, North Carolina.

Monty is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Link, who shared many wonderful years with him at their home. He leaves behind his loving son Robert Link and his wife Rebecca of Matthews, and his caring daughter Jodey Link and her husband Nicholas Leonard of Lexington. Monty is also survived by his brother Wayne Link and his nephew Rusty Link, both residents of Lexington, and many other beloved family members and friends.

Preceding Monty in death were his parents, Robert Lee Link and Myrtle Byerly Link, along with five brothers and three sisters, whom he has now joined in everlasting peace.

Monty was well-known in his community as the owner and operator of Link's Fertilizer and Lime Service. He was a hard worker who found joy in simple pleasures, gardening, caring for animals, and enjoying the early morning quiet during his daily 5:45 am visits to Steven's Restaurant. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Steven's for their continued care and love for Monty throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2 PM at Arcadia Church of Christ, located at 3448 Enterprise Rd, Lexington, NC 27295-9286. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects, with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that donations be made to a charity close to your heart, in honor of Monty's legacy and the life he lived so fully.

Monty's warmth, dedication, and kindness touched many lives. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of love and hard work will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
