Morris Jefferson Hensley, age 76, of West US Highway 64, Lexington passed away Monday morning (December 6, 2010) at his home after a sudden illness. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday (December 9, 2010) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday and at other times at the home.
Morris was born in Rutherford County, January 19, 1934 to Julius Henry Hensley and Inez Houser Hensley. He was a retired employee of Employment Security Commission and a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. He served his country in the US Army, a member of American Legion Post 8 and Amvets Post 13. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are: his wife Ruby (Dean) Hensley of the home; one daughter, Ginger Lanning and husband Charles of Lexington; six sons, Morris Dean Hensley and wife Donna, Ronnie Dale Hensley and wife Linda, Tim Woodell and wife Julie and Jeff Hensley all of Lexington; Mark Hensley and wife Gloria and Brian Hensley all of Winston Salem; several grandchildren.
