Morris Jerome Vaughters, 65, of Lexington, passed away May 2, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Files Chapel Baptist Church in Lexington. The family will see friends before and following the service at the church.
Morris was born July 30, 1956, in Rowan County, to Morris Lee Vaughters and Ruby Hawkins Vaughters. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from RJR Tobacco Company. Morris was a fun-loving person who never met a stranger. His passion was his faith, family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Morris was a husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Steven Lamar Vaughters, brother, Willie Vaughters, sister, Patricia Hawkins.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gloria Coe Martin of Winston Salem; son, Morris “Rocky” Rashad Vaughters and wife Tiffany of Raleigh; his daughter, Michelle Davis and Fiancé Brian Bullins of Rural Hall, Brothers, Gordon Vaughters, Gil Vaughters and wife Lavonnie all of Connecticut; sisters, Kay Vaughters, Mary Vaughters both of Connecticut; and Loretta Vaughters of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Ashley Vaughters, sister-in-law, Delores Vaughters, also surviving are the love of his life his 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, also a special family friend, Amy Butler.
