Myra Smith Leonard

Myra Smith Leonard, age 66 of Lamb Road, Lexington, Tyro Community, passed away Tuesday evening at Pineridge Nursing Home in Thomasville after an extended illness. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at Reeds Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday and at other times at the home. Myra was born in Davidson County May 1, 1947 to Weldon and Lola Slaydon Smith. She was a member Reeds Baptist Church; and retired after 38 years as Director of Radiology at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Myra is survived by her husband of 47 years, Max Leonard; daughter, Meredith L. Pope of Lexington; sons, Michael Leonard (Shelly) of Lexington; Matthew D. Leonard of Puerto Rico; parents, Weldon and Lola Smith of Lexington; grandchildren, Janeice, Brianna and Thomas Leonard, Kristen and Kip Pope; sisters, Joyce Grubb (Foy), Laura Hemphill (Rick), Lesia Reudelhuber (George); brothers, Junie Smith (Reta), David Smith (Kim); numerous nieces and nephews.
