Mrs. Myrel Pierce Myers Belknap, 88, of Mt. Moriah Drive, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center after declining health. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 3 at Parklawn Memorial Park by Charlie Riddle. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel. Mrs. Belknap was born January 5, 1923 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Harley and Maude Holmes Pierce. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Wilson Myers, and Charles Eugene Belknap; and her granddaughters, Angela Myers and Kim Myers Mandich. She is survived by her son, Jimmy W. Myers and wife, Edith, of Lexington; her daughter, Dianne Myers Mosely and husband, Arthur, of Archer, Florida; her granddaughters, Julie Bowers and husband, Mike, of Lexington, April Hopp and husband, William; her grandson, Eddie Mosely of Archer, FL; her great-granddaughters, Casey Wolfe and husband, Andy, of Lexington, Miranda, Elizabeth, and Lindsey Bowers, all of Lexington, and Jessica, Shelbie, and Kristie Hopp, all of Archer, FL; her great grandson, Steven Johnson, and wife, Amanda, of Thomasville; and her great great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Chloe Wolfe, both of Lexington, and Zoey Johnson, of Thomasville, and a number of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit and its staff at Forsyth Hospital for the wonderful care that was given. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem NC 27103.
