Myrtie Byerly

Myrtie McCain Byerly, age 82, of W. Third Avenue, Lexington died Monday morning in Lexington Memorial Hospital. Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Derek Boggs. Mrs. Byerly was born in Bremen, Georgia September 2, 1924 to Georgia Washington McCain and Myrtie Belle Reid McCain. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a BS in education. She was a former school teacher with Lexington City Schools and a member of First Lutheran Church and preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are: Sons; John R. Byerly of Baltimore, MD, Tim M. Byerly of Lexington and Ben E. Byerly of Birmingham, AL; 6 Grandchildren; Adam Byerly, Nicholas Byerly, Nathaniel Byerly, Patrick Byerly, Kaitlin Byerly and Leah Byerly. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon from 3 until 4 pm prior to the service.
