Myrtle Essick Brandon

Myrtle Lee Essick Brandon passed from this life on January 27, 2025, at the age of 91.

She was born May 6, 1933, in Davidson County, NC to Olin McKinley Essick and Delta Lee Walser. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Waugh Brandon. William and Myrtle had 4 daughters: Nancy Hollifield (Melvin), Vickie Barker (Buel), Betty Brown (Chris) and Melinda Goad (Edwin).

They were blessed with 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Myrtle was an exceptionally kind and gentle wife and mother who loved her family dearly. She was a member of Arcadia Church of Christ and faithfully followed the Lord all the days of her life. Myrtle loved flowers and working in her flower gardens. She truly had a green thumb and valued each lovely bloom.

Myrtle blessed the lives of her family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family would like to express special thanks to Myrtle's daughter Betty and granddaughters Amanda Pouffe and Christi Thomas who provided loving care to Myrtle, allowing her to remain at home and to Trellis Support Care and their caring staff, especially nurse Nancy.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at Arcadia Church of Christ with Brothers Tony Morrison and Bobby Leonard. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2025 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
