Myrtle Lee Ward Hill, 92, of Lexington Health Care, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at Lexington Health Care.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Jersey Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Mike Collier. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of the granddaughter on Hillside Court in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Hill was born on Dec. 17, 1917, in Stokes County, to William Ward and Lula Cook Ward. She was retired from Dixie Furniture and a member of the Ladies Circle at her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Lindsay Hill; brother, Fred Ward; and a sister, Octavia Yow.
Surviving are a daughter, Dawn Gray of Lexington; two grandchildren, Misti White and husband Sam of Winston-Salem and Melissa Gray of Connecticut; two great-grandchildren, Dalton White and Brennan White, both of Winston-Salem; a sister, Thelma Tedder; and longtime friends who were like family, Shelia Hoover and husband Mickey and their children, Will and Andy, and Sherry O'Neill and husband Scott and their children, Robin and Stephanie.
