Myrtle Carrick Styers, 89, of West Anna Family Care, formerly of Holloways Church Road, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at West Anna.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Mountain View Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Tim Miller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Styers was born November 3, 1918, in Davidson County, to Earlie David Carrick and Dorma Tysinger Carrick. She was a seamstress at Lexington Shirt Factory prior to her retirement. Her husband, William Paul Styers preceded her in death on March 4, 2007. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Wade Styers, a brother, Hollis Carrick and a sister, Treva Carrick Graves.
Surviving are a son, Don Styers and wife, Sarah, of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Gail Styers Mainess of Lexington; four grandchildren, Robin Shuman, Monica Walker, Dr. Chris Styers, and Dr. Lynn Styers; great-grandchildren, Leslie Cash, Emily Shuman, David Shuman, Jason Walker, and Ava Faith Syters; great-great-grandchild, Ian Cash;a brother, Hubert Carrick of Lexington; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Carrick Hulin of Denton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Davidson Funeral Home.
