Myrtle Watson

December 16, 1926 — April 16, 2020

Myrtle Christine Watkins Watson, 93, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Grayson Creek Assisted Living, after years of declining health.

As to follow directives from Governor Cooper’s office, a private graveside service will be held in the Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Avery Varnadore officiating.

Mrs. Watson was born in Anson County, NC on December 16, 1926 to Bish Alexander Watkins and Ila Haltom Watkins. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Chris Blum; two brothers; and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Carol Martin (Bill) of Lexington, Linda Mize (Rusty Smith) of Arcadia, and Mary Lou James of Yadkinville; two brothers, Jim Watkins (Jan) of Lexington, and Neil Watkins (Mary Lou) of Thomasville; a sister, Zelma Miller (Johnny) of Lexington; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to Lighthouse Baptist Church at 267 Meadowview Rd, Lexington, NC 27295.
