Nancy Lanier Cannon Harris

Nancy Lanier Cannon Harris, 84, of Magnolia Manor of Woodruff S.C., died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, S.C. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a life-long member, by her grandson the Rev. Matthew Kuhn. Mrs. Harris was born January 5, 1924, in Davidson County, to Culbert Lanier and Minnie Walser Lanier. She was retired from Erlanger Mills. In addition to her parents Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Carter; brothers, Paul Lanier, A. J. Lanier, Russell Lanier, and Gary Lanier; and sisters, Thelma Snyder and Melba Hegler. Surviving are a son, Johnny Cannon of Woodruff, S.C.; daughters, Marquita Hamilton of Greenville, S.C., and Suzanne Hamilton of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Halsted and husband, Ryan, Emily Gupta and husband, Pankaj, Jason Hamilton, Philip Hamilton, Elizabeth Sandrock and husband, Ronnie, Matthew Kuhn and wife, Mollie, and Wesley Carter; son-in-law, Gary Carter of Lexington; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
