Nancy Carol Rhyne Idol, 69, of Paul Musgrave Road, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Derek Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Idol was born April 14, 1940, in Catawba County, to Rufus Rhyne and Myra Rhyne. She was a graduate of University of North Carolina at Greensboro; a teacher for Thomasville City School system for 30 years during which time she taught at Colonial Drive Elementary School. She was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church serving in the choir and bell choir. She also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Idol was an avid reader and supporter of Davidson County Library. She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving are sons, Scott Idol and wife, Pam, Craig Idol and wife, Gina, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Karmen and Kendall Idol, Anna and Alisha Calicutt, all of Lexington; her mother of Hickory; and a brother, Joe Rhyne and wife, Becky, of Newton-Conover.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
