Nancy Davis Coble Koontz

Nancy Davis Coble Koontz, age 77 of Center Church Road, Lexington passed away Monday at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Beulah United Church of Christ, where she was a member with Rev. Brian Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday night and at other times at the home. Nancy was born in Rowan County, October 29, 1936 to the late James White (J.W.) and Etta Crook Davis. She retired from Davidson County Schools, having taught at Central Davidson High School for 2 years; taught at Reidsville High School and at South East Guilford High School for 26 years. Nancy is survived by her husband, John Koontz of the home; son, Davis Reed Coble and companion Jennifer Beck of Lexington; step-daughter, Lia Glover (Hube) of Lexington; step-son, John Koontz (Laura) of Lexington; 2 step-grandchildren, Jake Glover and Faith Koontz of Lexington; brother, Jim Davis and special friend Hope of Greensboro; niece, Meredith Davis Furst (Mike) and their children, Riley and Olivia of Jamestown; nephew, Austin Davis of Kernersville. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
