Nancy Lee Leonard

April 4, 1941 — May 24, 2024

Nancy Lee Leonard, 83, of Lexington, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 12:00 PM, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor Ray Harris officiating.

Nancy was born on April 4, 1941, in Davidson County, to the late Charles Franklin Cope and Christine Walser Cope. She worked for many years at PPG and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

Nancy was known to be a wonderful cook and it was a passion of hers to prepare food for others and she shared her love by making sure no one went hungry, especially the kids at church she would make snacks for. She had a signature pecan pie that will forever remain a favorite for those who were lucky enough to have enjoyed it.

Along with cooking, she loved crocheting, cross-stitching, being outside and working in the yard. Her flower beds were a living testament to the love and care she gave throughout her life.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Cope; and two sisters, Betty Cope, and Sarah Clark.

Left to cherish her memory is her family, Diane Burkhart, of the home, and Judy Burkhart, of Lexington; special friends, Emily Grubb (Tim), and Kathy Smith who helped sit with her; her church family; a host of other friends; and precious fur-baby, Pete.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clearview Baptist Church, 120 Clearview St. Lexington, NC 27295, of to Hospice of Davidson County, 100 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.
