Nancy Ruth Calloway McCrary, 75 of Ridge Road passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Midway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Nancy was born June 2, 1934 to the late Clyde and Mary Calloway. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church where she was very active in the United Methodist Women until her mobility was limited. She served as President of the UMW and a leader of the Willing Worker’s Circle and also, a member of the Davidson County Genealogy Society. She is preceded in death by her sister Ethel Yarbrough and three brothers; Jim Calloway, Bob Calloway and Lonnie Calloway.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Claude McCrary of the home and six children; Doug McCrary (Brenda), Martha Colston, David McCrary, Jeff McCrary (Winnie), Mike McCrary (Brenna) and Holly Mosher (Rick). Eleven grandchildren; Julie Hinkle, Bobby Hinkle (Dena), Brad McCrary, Melissa McCrary, Matthew McCrary, Joshua McCrary, Tess McCrary, Austin Mosher, Eric McCrary, Reagan Mosher and Hannah McCrary. Four great-grandchildren;
Maggie McCrary, Brianna Franks, Gillian Hinkle, Lincoln Hinkle and a special niece, Vickie Thompson (Danny).
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
