Nancy Jane Powell Spencer

July 6, 1945 — November 29, 2014

Heaven opened it’s doors once again and gained another angel on November 29,2014. Nancy Jane Spencer, 69, of Lexington, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Lexington City Cemetery, with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home. Nancy was born on July 6, 1945, in Welcome, to the late James “Bud” and Sallie Pearl Powell. She worked at Thomasville Furniture while raising two of her children until she met her husband, Owen Spencer, who passed away at the young age of 61 in 2003. Nancy spent the rest of her life devoted to raising her children and her grandchildren. Nancy lived a simple life, she was heartbroken after losing her daughter, Patricia Mcintyre in 2012, and then her son, Rocky Mcintyre in May 2014. She leaves behind her youngest daughter, Melinda Gail Spencer and a granddaughter, Montanna Berrier, both of Winston-Salem; her twin grandsons, Joseph and Jason Lowder, both of Lexington; a half-sister, Neillie Stafford of Lexington; and a close cousin, Mary Ann Fishal of King. Nancy was the one person you could always count on; she always listened and never judged anyone. She had a lot of friends that would just come and sit and spend hours talking to her. Even though it was hard letting her go, her family knows she has joined her place in Heaven beside her husband, son, and daughter, who she has missed dearly. She was and will always be truly loved and never forgotten.
