Mrs. Nancy Thompson, 82, of Joshua Court, died Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at Linwood United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was born on June 25, 1943, in Harrison County, Mississippi, to the late Gideon Taylor and Elsie Virginia Leonard Motley.

Mrs. Thompson was a longtime member and faithful servant of Linwood United Methodist Church for many years and was very involved with the United Methodist Women’s group. She was a member of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association (ITPA) for over 50 years, serving as former president of the organization. She enjoyed volunteering with United Way and doing crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lynn Thompson.

Survivors include her children, Brian Ross Thompson (Lisa) and Elizabeth Thompson Howard (Joe), all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Hailey Thompson Baldwin (Gavin), Harper Howard, and Joey Howard; two great-grandchildren, Elsie Baldwin and Grady Baldwin; and a brother, Gideon Motley.
