Nancy Jean Vestal

Nancy Vestal, 73, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday morning at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Tonya Branham officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Nancy was born on December 2, 1949, in Davidson County, to the late Kinnie Hughes and Hazel Frances McBride. She worked for many years as a manager and made many friends throughout her working life.

Nancy loved to fish and was known as one of the best Carp fishermen around. She also enjoyed a good game of poker and being around her family. She was an amazing cook and her natural ability to never meet a stranger made her everybody’s Nanny. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Judy Crotts.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Jerry Vestal; her daughters, Tina Mathis and wife Katy of Lexington, and Robin Eaton and husband Michael of Lexington; her son, Mark Vestal of Lexington; brother, Larry Hughes of Lexington; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
