Naomi Meachum Lookabill, 80, of Jerusalem Road, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House following a two week illness.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and other times at their respective homes.
Mrs. Lookabill was born August 9, 1933, in Davidson County, to Oscar J. Meachum and Minnie Campbell Meachum. She was a former assembler at Lexington Furniture Company and a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Early Jacob Lookabill Jr. who died December 3, 2006; a son, Earl Mason Lookabill; brothers, Ed Meachum, David Lee Meachum, JC Meachum, Buck Meachum, Charlie Meachum; sisters, Pauline Meachum and Nadine Wilson; and great-grandson, Landon Hill.
Surviving are son, Charles Lookabill and special friend Judy Nordahl of Lexington; daughter, Terry Barnette and husband Byron of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Mary Lookabill of Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Lookabill, Austin Lookabill and wife, Rachel, Mary Royce Lookabill, T.J. Lookabill, Marty Lookabill, Terri Jo Hill, Magnum Barnette and wife Ashley, Byron S. Barnette and wife Ashley, and Trish Lookabill; great-grandchildren, Mason, Jacob, Xavier, Demetri, Raine, Paige, Jakob, Daxton, and Bella; brother, Bob Meachum and wife Helen of Lexington; sisters, Juanita Black and Maxine Burkhart and husband Clayburn, all of Lexington; and her special friend who she spoke to daily, Laura Kepley.
