Natalie Neal Blomquist

July 29, 1927 — May 17, 2017

  Natalie Grace Neal Blomquist, 89, of Lexington, died Wednesday, May 17 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.    A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 3rd, at First United Methodist Church, by the Rev Doug Rowe.  A private interment will be held at a later date.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.   Mrs. Blomquist was born July 29, 1927 in Raleigh to Dr. Paul Nathaniel Neal and Grace Black Neal.  She attended Needham Broughton High School, Peace Junior College, and Meredith College.  She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Altar Guild.  She had served on the Board of Directors for the Edward C. Smith Civic Center and as President of the Lexington Women’s Club. She was also an avid supporter of Crisis Ministry.  Her husband, George Blomquist, Jr., preceded her in death.      She is survived by her son, Paul Neal Blomquist and daughter-in-law Pamela Rogers Blomquist; her daughter, Shelley Blomquist Johns and son-in-law, Dr. Russell Johns; and her four beloved grandchildren: Amanda Jones and husband, Mason, Elizabeth Blomquist, Matthew Johns & Benjamin Johns.    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 310 S. Main Street, Lexington NC 27292, or to Crisis Ministry, 107 E. 1st Avenue, Lexington NC 27292.
