Nathan Lafayette Evans Jr., 89, of Family Feud Drive, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at his home, following an extended illness.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Shelia Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Evans was born March 17, 1923, in Davidson County, to Nathan Lafayette Evans Sr. and Vera Sink Evans. He was a retired engineer from Jet Propulsion Lab and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Deedie Walser Evans of the home; sons, David Evans and wife, Connie, of Indiana and Larry Evans of California; daughter, Laura Ohara and husband, Richard, of California; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Elizabeth Samuels of Lexington.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
