Henry Nathan Haggard, 65, of Lumina Drive, passed away suddenly Monday, June 4, 2012. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Good Hope United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Chris Bennett and Rev. Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Haggard was born July 21, 1946, in Jackson County, Ga., to Henry Grady Haggard and Eva Mozelle Ingram Haggard. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds after 33 ½ years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Berrier. Surviving are his loving wife, Merle Adele Thomas Haggard of the home; son, Kevin Haggard of Wilmington; stepsons, Jeremy Beck and wife Tracy and Justin Beck and wife Melissa, both of Lexington; stepdaughter, Heather Warner and husband, Billy, of Lexington; grandchildren, Peyton Warner, Elle Warner, Graci Gibbs, Jessica Ryan, Abbie Beck, and Kaleb Beck; and sister, Linda Scott and husband, Van, of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
