Nell Mackinnon

Nell Marie Storey MacKinnon, 77, of Old Salisbury Road, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by Ivy Hooper. Mrs. MacKinnon was born Dec. 30, 1930, to James Crestus Storey and Hazel Smith Storey. She was a wonderful mother to her four children and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Cleveland MacKinnon; and a son, Wallace Oxford MacKinnon. Surviving are a son, Michael Alan MacKinnon of Taylorsville; a daughter, Kathrine Elizabeth MacKinnon of Chapel Hill; a son, Robert Christian MacKinnon and his wife, Tammy Everhart MacKinnon, of Lexington; four grandchildren, David Michael MacKinnon, Kathrine Eliza MacKinnon, Jillian Wallis MacKinnon and Samuel Robert MacKinnon; one sister, Carolyn Storey Spilberg of Winston-Salem; one brother, James Douglas Storey of Roanoke, Va.; and paternal uncle and aunt, Smith G. and Wilma Storey of Avery County. The family will greet friends after the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to a children's organization of the donor's choice.
