Nellie Brown Coon

Nellie Brown Coon, 105, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Daniels Lutheran Church with Pastor Pierson Shaw officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church’s fellowship hall.

Mrs. Coon was born May 22, 1918, in Lincoln County, North Carolina, to George Monroe Brown and Olive Senter Brown. She was a member of Daniels Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She also loved playing Bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clarence Coon, seven brothers and sisters, and one son, Reverend Robert George Coon.

Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Nancy Lineback (Ed) of Winston-Salem, a daughter-in-law, Ann Coon, three sisters, Evelyn Thomas of Lincolnton, Helen Sides of Lincolnton, and Doris Reynolds (George) of Greensboro. She is also survived by four grandchildren, David Lineback (Lisa), Elizabeth Piller (Shannon), Susan Previts (Fred), Robert Coon (Lindsay), and ten great-grandchildren, Maria Adonay, Emily Lineback, Brian Lineback, Will Boone, Jay Boone, Sam Coon, Sally Coon, Lucy Coon, Ellen Previts, and Ben Previts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Daniels Lutheran Church at 3170 Reepsville Road, Lincolnton, North Carolina 28092.

The staff of Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the Coon family.
