Nellie Mae Hege Forrest

Nellie Mae Hege Forrest, 71, of Arvil Hunt Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at her home after several years of declining health. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Jack Nance. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Forrest was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Davidson County to Ervin Everett Hege and Catherine Wiles Hege. A former employee of Dixie Furniture, she was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Everett Hege, and three infants at birth. Surviving are her husband, Billy Reed Forrest of the home; a son, Allan Reid Forrest and his wife, Pamela D., of Lexington; four brothers, Earl Hege of Seagrove, Cecil Hege of Midway, Raymond Hege of Asheboro and Henry Hege of Lexington; three sisters, Hattie Cummings and Doris Wilson, both of Linwood, and Lillie Wilson of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Joshua Forrest and Cory Forrest, who were raised by Nellie; and three stepgrandchildren, Jonathan, Clara and Kyle Blackwell. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the residence. Memorials may be directed to Community Fellowship Moravian Church, P.O. Box 397, Welcome, NC 27374. Billy, Allen and family want to say a special thanks to Pamela Forrest for the care and love she gave to Nellie.
