Nellie Pierce

Nellie D. Pierce, 78, of Pine Road, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at her home after a two-week illness. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel in Durham by the Rev. Betty Bunn. Mrs. Pierce was born March 4, 1928, in Durham to Norman Yow and Ruby Brinn Yow. She was a retired operator for ADT and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lynwood Pierce; a brother, Thomas Vow; and a sister, Dell Couch. Surviving are her two daughters, Donna Colclough and her husband, Jerry, of Lexington and Susan Childress and her husband, Walt, of Southmont; one grandchild; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bobby Yow and his wife, Ann, of Sunset Beach and Buddy Yow and his wife, Carolyn, of Gatlinburg, Tenn.
