Nellie Lee Westbrook Robertson

Nellie Lee Westbrook Robertson, age 86, of East Center St. Ext., Lexington went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday (June 14, 2011) at her home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday (June 17, 2011) at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Tim Gainey, Rev. Jimmy Greene and Dr. Beverly Fulbright officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday night and at other times at the home of  daughter Gail Varner, 1234 East Center St. Ext. Lexington.   Nellie was born in Davidson County, April 23, 1925 to Joseph Westbrook and Carrie Butts Westbrook.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, with a keen sense of humor. She never met a stranger, and was loved by many. She was a retired employee of Burlington Furniture and a member of East End Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Elmer Robertson; sister, Betty Wood Crouse and a brother, Hugh Westbrook.   Surviving are three daughters: Carrie Ann Fulbright, Gail Varner and husband Wade all of Lexington and Marie Franke and husband Ronald of Greenville, SC; one son, George Robertson, Jr. and wife Sandy of Moore, SC; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; four step-daughters; Betty Carol Gainus of Pink Hill, NC, Bevelyn Robertson of Lexington, Shelia Watson Bartlett of Staley, NC and Cindy Holshouser and husband Mark of Linwood; one step-son, Gary Robertson and wife Felisa of Mocksville; 4 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.   Memorials may be directed to Life is Good “Relay For Life” Team, c/o, Clearview Baptist Church, 120 Clearview Street, Lexington, NC  27295.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
