Nelson Franklin Mcmahan

Mr. Nelson Franklin McMahan, 82, of Highway 64 West, Lexington, NC died at his home Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am  Saturday, February 29th at Reeds Baptist Church, by the Rev. Jerry Beck.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, NC from 6:00 until 8:00pm Friday evening

Mr. McMahan was born July 20, 1937 in Davidson County to Carl Franklin McMahan and Vada Marian Snyder McMahan.  He was a graduate of Reeds School, a retired employee of Duke Energy Corporation and a lifelong member of Reeds Baptist Church in Lexington, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marian June McMahan Tysinger.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Connie Lou Curry McMahan; son, Gregory Nelson McMahan (Tammy); daughter, Cynthia Lou McMahan; son, Rocky Dean McMahan (Assina); brother, Freddie Clark McMahan (Betty); grandchildren, Katherine Jo Duncan (Matt), Wesley Kyle McMahan, Noah Nelson Noui McMahan; great-grandchildren, Bryce Hardie Duncan and Wade Franklin Duncan.

The family would like to thank his special caregiver, Carol Hargrave, for her kindness and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Reeds Baptist Church New Building Fund, 180 Reeds Baptist Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
