Nelwyn Miness Waters, 90, passed away at her residence in Davidson County, on July 25, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1935, to the late Marshall Miness and Gladys Miness in the state of Georgia.

A funeral service to honor Nelwyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at First Assembly of God of Lexington, with Pastor Vernon Richmeier officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM, at the church. Burial will be held at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville at 3:30 PM. 

Preceding her in death are her parents, her beloved husband, Jack Calvin Waters Sr, and her daughter, Vanessa Lynn Kemp.

Surviving are her son, Jack Waters Jr. (Rhonda); daughter, Angela Fire; grandchildren, Travis Freeman, Christopher Morehead, and Joshua Nicholson; and five great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Alderwood Hospice of Davidson County for their kindness and compassion shown to Nelwyn.
