Neva Rollins McDowell, age 96, of West 5th Street, Lexington passed away Sunday afternoon at Brian Center. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Weisner and Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday and at other times at the home of her granddaughter Julie White, 125 Pleasant Hill Road, Lexington.
Neva was born in Wayne County, NC March 15, 1915 to Ed Rollins and Ida Mae Stallings Rollins.
She was a former employee of Erlanger Mills and Shoaf Wayside Furniture. She was a member of the former Christ Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert McDowell on May 9, 1982; son in law, Alfred Lookabill; sisters, Clara Frances Holt, Mary Lou Lee, Mildred Marusak, Grace Anderson and Joyce Lee; brothers, Louis Rollins and Edward Rollins.
Surviving are; her daughters, Elizabeth Lookabill and Betty McDowell both of Lexington and Judith McDowell of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Sharon Lookabill and Julie L. White and husband Joe; great-grandchildren, Austin White, Alex White and Asa White; half-brother, Norman Rollins of Laurinburg.
