Nora Faye McGuire Roberson 74 of West 4th Ave. passed away Tuesday October 12, 2010, at Alston Brook.
The funeral will be 11 am Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Wayne Knight and Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am Thursday prior to the service and at other times at the home of her sister, Barbara Kepley, 775 Abbid Street, Lexington.
Mrs. Roberson was born in Ashe County July 8, 1936 to Clifford McGuire and Lola Mae Walker McGuire. She was a retired office clerk with Roses Dept. Store and was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her husband Hugh Roberson and a son, Jerry Wilcox preceded her in death. Two brothers, J.L. McGuire and Earl Moretz also preceded her in death.
Surviving are step-daughters, Rhonda Day and husband, Russell, of Lexington and Lynn Joyner and husband, Doug, of Kernersville; sisters, Gladys Moretz and good friend, Dean Michael, Barbara Kepley and husband, Jimmy, Gail Ford and husband, Russell, all of Lexington, and Linda Pierce and husband, Charles, of Mocksville; three step-grandchildren, Joseph Joyner, Mary Joyner and Eric Barker; two step great-grandchildren, Rileigh and Heidi Barker; and special friends, Blanche Poole, Ruby Rowe, Betty Smith and Pedro and Janet and their children, Sarah and Matthew.
