Norma Berry

August 18, 1929 — June 4, 2018

Norma Ann Hunt Berry “Super Granny”, age 88, of Lexington passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018.   A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Reeds United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 prior to the service.   Ms. Berry was born in Davidson County on August 18, 1929 to George William Hunt and Myrtle Farabee Hunt. She was a retired EKG technician and a member of Reeds UMC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chip Berry; five brothers, Hoyle Hunt, Bill Hunt, Henry Hunt, Eugene Hunt, and Beaufort Hunt; four sisters, Virginia Blaylock, Geneva Leonard, Louise Hartley, and Marjorie Michael; and one grandson, Eric Prowell.   Surviving are her loving daughter, Glenda Prowell; a son-in-law, David Prowell; her sister, Iva Dean Hutchins; three grandchildren, Dr. Tanya Prowell and husband Dr. Todd Gleeson, Jason Prowell and wife Shelly, and Dr. Katie Anguish and husband Christian; and seven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Isla, and Faraby Gleeson, Kendall and Kolby Prowell, and Oliver and Scarlett Anguish.  A loving thank you to Teresa Tartaglia for taking such special care of my mother for the past four years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Reeds United Methodist Church at 4731 W Old Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27295 or to the Alzheimer’s Association at PO Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090.
