Norma Jean Essick

Norma Jean Essick, 87, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating.

Jean was born February 10, 1936, in Davidson County, to Mr. Elmer James Essick and Mrs. Savannah Hartman Essick. She was a member of Leonard Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Essick; one son in-law, Ray Cabe; and one sister in-law, Carolyn Essick.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Del Welch (Tessy) of Mocksville; three daughters, Loretta Cabe of Linwood, Rita Craver (Hoy) of Virginia, and Ronda Welch of Winston Salem; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
