Norma Owen

Norma Hein Owen, 86, of S. State Street, died Monday, September 8, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Byers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, and other times at the home of the son, Barry. Mrs. Owen was born April 10, 1928, in Camden, N.J., to Norman Thomas Hein and Marie Stoner Hein. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Owen was a member of Lexington Woman’s Club, Plein-Air Art Group, and Sea-low traveling group. Surviving are sons, William Barron “Barry” Owen Jr. and wife Carolyn and Robert Thomas Owen, both of Lexington; daughter, Sheryl Owen of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
