Norman Edward Berrier

Norman Edward Berrier 89 of Winston-Salem passed away early Wednesday morning, July 10, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Canaan United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Miller and Elise Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation with the family will follow the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home. Norman was born in Davidson County on February 19, 1924 to George Alexander Berrier, Sr. and Minnie Kinley Berrier. He retired from R J Reynolds Tobacco Co. and served in the US Army during WWII in the 101st Airborne. He was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church and was a member of the Methodist Men and church Choir. Surviving are his wife of nearly 67 years, Dorothy “Dot” Snyder Berrier, three sons, Steve Berrier (Jean), Philip Berrier and Chris Berrier (Rhonda) all of Winston-Salem; a brother, Grady Berrier also of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Kevin Berrier (Lori), Travis Berrier (Cathy); two great-grandchildren, Chase Berrier and Rayford Norman Berrier. Memorials may be made to Canaan United Methodist Church, Lord’s Table Food Dist., 1760 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
