Norman "Bubba" Cleveland Gambrell

Norman Cleveland “Bubba” Gambrell, 82 of Old Linwood Rd., Lexington died Friday morning August 31, 2012 at his home after an illness of 8 months. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Fairmont Presbyterian Church with Rev. Randy Hall officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service and at other times at the home on Old Linwood Rd. Mr. Gambrell was born in Davidson County on August 9, 1930 to Dr. Grover Cleveland Gambrell and Irene Bostian Gambrell. He was owner of Gambrell’s Outdoor Power Equipment and taught shop at Central Davidson High School in the 70’s. He was a beloved member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife Marilyn Hornbeck Gambrell of the home, son David Cleveland Gambrell and wife Carole and daughter Nancy Sullivan and husband Gerry all of Lexington, 3 grandchildren, William Sullivan, Phillip Sullivan and Caroline Sullivan and sisters Sarah Carson of Blackstone, VA and Vivian Taylor of Smith Mountain Lake, VA Memorials may be directed to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 1436 Cotton Grove Rd., Lexington, NC 27292 or Victory Junction Gang, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317 Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
