Norman Ray Carlton

Norman Carlton, age 81, of Lexington died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at his home with family by his side.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Denton Wesleyan Church, Denton, NC conducted by Rev. Charlie Collins and Rev. Fred Carlton.  Family will receive friends 11:00 am until 1:00 pm prior to service.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Norman was born in Davidson County December 4, 1940, to Carl Hobart Carlton and Flora Barnes Carlton.  Norman retired from Little Debbie Snack Cakes, known as "Little Debbie Man", and served in the US Navy.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Darrell Carlton, sister Catherine Koonts and first wife, Julia Claire Carlton.

Surviving are his wife, Lynn Carlton of the home; sons, Daniel Carlton, Shannon Cross (Sharon), daughters, Jeanna Carlton; Robin Leonard and partner (Maurice Lewis), former daughter-in-law Robbin Briley, brother Rev. Fred Carlton, four grandchildren, Dillon, Madison, Hunter, Hannah, host of nieces and nephews, his canine friend Gracie Doodlebug and feline friend Kitty-Cat (Angel).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davidson County Meals on Wheels or Hinkle Hospice, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
