Mr. Norman Erastus Clodfelter age 85, of Winston Salem passed away Thursday September 29, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center after a three month illness.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday October 2, 2011 at Canaan United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Ireson & Rev. Michael Gates officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel on Saturday October 1, 2011.
Norman was born August 23, 1926 in Davidson County to Carl William Clodfelter and Lucy Williard Clodfelter. He was a retired truck driver for R. J. Reynolds and a member of Canaan United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister; Doris C. Long.
Surviving are his wife Jean Smith Clodfelter of the home, his brothers; Farrell Clodfelter & wife Alice and Leland Clodfelter & wife Hilda both of Winston Salem, his sisters; Evva Mae Zimmerman of Arcadia and Emma Jean Hunt of Lexington, and many special nieces and nephews.
