Norman Franz

Mr. Norman Henry Franz, 86, of Peachtree Street, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House. A mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Al Gondek officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mr. Franz was born January 14, 1924, in Buffalo, NY, to Joseph Franz and Anna Braun Franz. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps serving as a B-17 navigator. Mr. Franz graduated from Carnegie-Mellon and was a retired electrical engineer from IBM. His wife, Jessie Georgine Morgan Franz preceded him in death. Surviving are his son, William D. Franz of Carlsbad, Ca.; his daughters, Susan L. Fisher and husband, Gary, of Lexington, and Dorothy J. Crane of San Diego, Ca.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
