Norman F. Holton, 84, of Holton Drive, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Union Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Harris and Dr. Harold Fletcher. Burial will follow at Clemmons Moravian Church Graveyard.
Mr. Holton was born in Davie County on May 15, 1924, to Noble D. Holton and Juanita Smith Holton. He was a safety adviser at Lucent Technologies. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and served in World War II. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Virginia Fine Holton; a son, Terry Holton; and four sisters, Gloria, Shirley, Maureen and Gay.
Surviving are four sons, Jerry Alan Holton and his wife, Pam, Wayne Holton and his wife, Wanda, Tracy Holton and his wife, Melissa, and Dwight Smith and his wife, Donna, all of Winston-Salem; one daughter, Jane Carol Holton and her husband, Wayne, of Greensboro; three brothers, Gilmer Holton and his wife, Jane, of Clemmons, Horace Jack Holton and his wife, Melvorine, of Rhonda and Leon Holton of Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
