Odell Dudley

Odell Dudley, Jr. age 82 of Riverview Road, Lexington passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Avante of Thomasville. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Odell was born in Columbus County, NC on August 4, 1935 to Odell Dudley and Smithey Elizabeth Dudley. He was a member of Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, Sunday school teacher, a Trustee and director of the Mens Brotherhood. In his teen years he earned Eagle Scout, was scout of the year, served as a patrol leader and assistant Scout Master. In his working years, he entered food sales and was named salesman of the year. He was district manager for three different companies and was named manager of the year four consecutive years. He retired at the age of 59 and established his own company of O & C Snacks. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Hamilton. Surviving are his loving wife, Carolyn Dudley of the home; sons, Randall Dale Dudley of Lexington, Michael Dean Dudley (Theresa) of Brown Summit; step-daughter, Janet Melin of California; step-son, David Sweeney of Mexico; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sara Frances Cribbs and Patsy Floyd of Fairbluff.
