Odell Everhart

Carl Odell Everhart, 87, of Reedy Creek School Drive, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House The funeral will be noon Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Good Hope United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Lauren Anderson and Pastor Jamie Sink officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Everhart was born July 1, 1927, in Davidson County, to Allen Everhart and Anna Jones Everhart. He was retired from Dixie Furniture after serving 47 years during, this time he had worked as a sander. Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Pauline Byerly Everhart, of the home; sons, Larry Everhart and wife Linda of Welcome and Benny Everhart and wife Barbara of Reeds; daughters, Jane Leonard and husband William and Yvonne Beck and husband Don, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Wayne Everhart and wife Amy, Tammy Leonard and husband Darrell, Wendy Hill and husband Ronald, Kimberly Leonard, and Kelly Leonard; great-grandchildren, Riley, Brady, and Mason Everhart, Ashley and Heather Leonard, and Maddie and Abbie Hill. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; or Good Hope United Methodist Church General Fund, 10253 Hampton Road (Highway 150), Lexington, NC 27295.
