Odell Wiliam Story

Odell William Story, 79, of Golden Drive, was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday, April 21, 2016. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Psalm 91 Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. There will be a private family burial on Saturday. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home. Odell was born May 12, 1936, in Rowan County, to Coley Story and Annie Trogden Story. He was retired from Lowes Home Improvement where he had worked in customer service. He was a beloved father and loving husband. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Matthew Johnson, Wendy Proctor and Christina Story; and sister, Doris Forrest. Surviving are his loving wife Mary Elizabeth Hudson Story of the home; son, Kenneth Story of Lexington; daughters, Elizabeth Meachum and husband Pat, Pamela Johnson, all of Lexington and Caryanne Story-Bunce and wife Lin of Greensboro; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Coley Story and wife Sandra of Lexington; and sisters, Clara Mize and Rebecca Owens, both of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4600 Park Rd., 100, Charlotte, NC 28209, to honor the life of Wendy Proctor.
