Odis "Bunny" William Hill

Odis “Bunny” William Hill, 85, of Old Salisbury Road, died Monday, December 29, 2014, at Alston Brook Nursing Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Jersey Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Don Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Mr. Hill was born May 30, 1929, in Davidson County, to D.B. Hill and Ada Cross Hill, however he was raised by Harris and Rosa Cody and John and Nola Coppley, all of Lexington. He was Superintendent of Linwood Manufacturing Company prior to his retirement. He played American Legion baseball as well as he was pitcher for the Philadelphia Athletics minor league baseball team. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Hill, December 30, 2014; his first wife, Tula Hedrick Hill; brothers, Willard Hill, Leon Hill, Percy Hill, Clifford Hill, and Jesse Hill; a grandchild, Erik Hunt; half brother, Donald Hill. Surviving are his loving wife, Virginia Conrad Hill, of the home; daughter, Donna Hill Taylor and husband Warren of Lexington; step son, Carl Ray Conrad and wife Jan of Charlotte; stepdaughters, Cathy Waitman and husband Steve and Carol Conrad and Joe Wallace, all of Lexington; grandson, Mark Waitman and wife, Missina of Lexington; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Waitman of Lexington; two foster sisters, Becky Myers and Margaret Coppley, both of Lexington; and a half-sister, Olene Hill. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2306 Meadowview Road Ste. 125, Greensboro, NC 27407.
