Olan Eugene Beck, 81, of Jerusalem Road, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beck's United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Gerald Sanders. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Beck was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Davidson County to Charles Beck and Jessie Miller Beck. He was retired from the Bahnson Co. of Winston-Salem. His daughter, Susan Beck Melton, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Mae Briggs Beck of the home; one son, Bennett Beck of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Chris Beck and his wife, Leah, of Lexington, Jarod Melton of Fort Knox, Ky., and Tabatha Garner of Greensboro; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everette Beck and his wife, Betty Jane, of Winston-Salem and Clyde Beck and his wife, Betty Jo, of Lakeland, Fla.; and one sister, Betty Rose Churchill and her husband, Alton, of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home.
