Oleta Bean Bivens

Oleta Bean Bivens, age 91, of East Holly Grove Road, Lexington passed away Monday at Lexington Medical Center after a sudden illness. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday at Holloways Baptist Church, where she was a member with Rev. Dana Slack officiating, and burial will follow in Holloways Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday. Oleta was born in Davidson County July 6, 1923 to Curtis Samuel and Lottie Mae Crook Bean. She was a former employee of PPG; preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Franklin Bivens; daughters, Ruth Hughes and Martha Berrier; a son, David Bivens. She is survived by daughters, Carol Sykes of Dallas, GA and Linda Meadows of Lexington; son, Jerry Bivens (Tootsie) of Lexington; 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
