Olga Timari James, 84, of Wilson Road, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Rowan Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Churchland Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ray N. Howell IV and her daughter, Patty Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. James was born November 9, 1927, in Ontario County, NY, to Joseph Timari and Helen B. Timari. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her life doing more than was asked, and was an exemplary Christian. All who knew her were blessed for it. She worked as a registered nurse for most of her career and also held several teaching positions in various nursing programs.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles LeRoy James of the home; sons, Donald James and wife, Anne, of Charlotte, and Joey James and wife, Rita, of Mooresville; daughters, Patty Johnston of Landrum, S.C. and Joyce James of Charlotte; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Steven Timari of Woodbridge, N.J. ; and sister, Margaret Purdon of Brockton, Ma.
