Ommie Boan

Ommie Mae Boan, 76, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House.

Born on July 13, 1949, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, Ommie was the daughter of the late Oscar and Dorothy Jewett Gainey.

Ommie found joy in cooking, shopping, soaking up warm sunny days, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Green.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Edward Gainey (Barbara), Bruce Gainey (Debbie), and Junior Gainey; her sister, Doris Curry (Ronald); her grandchildren, Corbin Green (Rebekah) and Danny Leonard; and her beloved son-in-law, Ash Green.

A memorial service to celebrate Ommie's life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Pilgrim Free Will Baptist Church, with the Reverend James Messer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
