Opal Daniels Hartley Hinson, 78, of West Second Avenue, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at her home after an illness of two months.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member since 1950, by the Rev. Frankie Matthews. Burial will be in the Lexington City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hinson was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Forsyth County to Robert Grover Daniels and Zella Byerly Daniels. She was a member of the VFW Post 3074 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Grant Hartley, and her second husband, Warren K. Hinson.
Surviving are her son, Paul Hartley and his wife, Sandra, of Lexington; one stepson, W.K. Hinson and his wife, Dianne, of Apex; one grandchild, Grant Hartley and his wife, Stephanie, of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Madison Hartley and Emily Hartley of Lexington; three stepgrandchildren, Josh Hinson and his wife, Emily, of Efland, Ryan Hinson of Apex and Caroline Flory and her husband, Joey, of Pittsboro; six brothers, R.G. Daniels and his wife, Iva, Grover Daniels and his wife, Shirley, and Ted Daniels and his wife, Audrey, all of Lexington, Jack Daniels and his wife, Judy, of Linwood, Clint Daniels of Clemmons and Joe Daniels of Virginia; and two sisters, Peggy Barrier and Dot McMahan and her husband, Myers, all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home on West Second Avenue.
