Otis Pinkston Mendenhall

Otis Pinkston Mendenhall, 97, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Good Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Fulk, III  and Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating.  Burial will follow at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the home on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and viewing will be held Sunday afternoon at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree.  Otis was born December 30, 1920 in Davidson County to Khlen Mendenhall and Esther Fishel Mendenhall.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was previously employed with RJR.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.  Surviving is a son, Jerry Wayne Mendenhall (Mary) of Lexington; a daughter, Vickie Mendenhall Tucker (David); grandchildren, Heather Goforth (Charlie); Jera Hawn (Mitchell); Kacie Wilson (Danyon), Nia Ward (Austin); and seven great-grandchildren; Izabell Goforth, Otis Ward, Lincoln Goforth, Lyda Hawn, Cleat Wilson, Mavy Hawn and Oaks Ward.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund, 10253 Hampton Road, Lexington, NC 27295.Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, is serving the family.
